This policy explains what is not allowed on Cupidera, how we find and deal with it, how you report something, and what you can do if you think we got a decision wrong. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
Cupidera is an online platform within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (the Digital Services Act), and this policy sets out how we meet its requirements on notice and action, statements of reasons, internal complaint handling and out-of-court dispute settlement. Terrorist content is handled under Regulation (EU) 2021/784.
1. What is not allowed
You must not post, send or link to:
- Anything involving a minor. No sexualised content involving anyone under 18, in any form. No accounts for under-18s. This is the one line where we act first and ask questions later, and where we contact the authorities.
- Non-consensual or intimate imagery of another person, including images shared to humiliate or coerce.
- Someone else’s photo or identity. Your profile must be you. Do not upload images of people who have not agreed to appear on a public dating profile.
- Harassment, threats, hate. Attacks on a person or group based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age.
- Commercial sexual services, escorting, or soliciting or advertising paid sex in any form.
- Money requests and fraud. Asking members for money, investment schemes, crypto pitches, romance scams, phishing.
- Spam and off-platform funnelling — bulk messaging, advertising, recruitment, or pushing members to external paid sites.
- Terrorist content — material that incites, solicits, glorifies or instructs in terrorist offences.
- Illegal goods, weapons, drugs.
- Malware, scraping and automation against the Service.
2. How moderation works
Before publication. Profiles, photos, audio and video are reviewed before they become visible to other members.
On report. Anything a member reports is reviewed by a person on our team.
On our own initiative. We act when we become aware of a problem, including through automated signals such as spam patterns and repeated reports.
We may use automated tools to detect and prioritise possible breaches. Decisions that restrict content or an account are reviewed by a human before they take effect, except where the material is manifestly illegal and immediate removal is necessary. Where automated means were used in a decision, we say so in the notice we send you.
3. Reporting something
Every profile has a report control, and you can also write to safety@cupidera.com. Reporting is free and can be done entirely electronically.
To help us act quickly, please include:
- why you believe the content is illegal or breaches these rules;
- the exact location — the profile URL, or where the message or photo appears;
- your name and email address.
You do not need to give your name when reporting material involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children.
We confirm receipt of your report, decide on it in a timely, diligent, non-arbitrary and objective way, and tell you the outcome and how to challenge it.
4. What we can do
Depending on what we find, we may:
- remove or hide a photo, a profile field, a message or an album;
- reduce the visibility of a profile;
- issue a warning;
- restrict a feature — for example the ability to send messages;
- suspend an account temporarily;
- close an account permanently.
We choose the least severe measure that solves the problem, except for content involving minors, where we remove and close immediately.
5. What we tell you
If we restrict your content or your account, we send you a statement of reasons setting out:
- what we did, and where it applies and for how long;
- the facts we relied on, and whether the decision followed a report or our own review;
- whether automated means were used;
- the legal ground, if the content was illegal, or the specific rule in these Terms it breached;
- how to challenge the decision, including your right to go to court.
6. Challenging a decision
If you think we got it wrong, write to support@cupidera.com within a reasonable time and tell us why. Your complaint is reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision. We answer within 15 days; if we need longer we say so and give you a date.
If we agree we were wrong, we reverse the measure and restore the content or account. Using this process does not affect your right to go to court, or to use the out-of-court dispute resolution described in section 15 of our Terms.
7. Repeat and manifestly unfounded behaviour
Accounts that repeatedly post prohibited content may be suspended for a period, after a warning, other than where the content involves minors. Equally, if someone repeatedly submits reports that are clearly unfounded, we may suspend their ability to report, again after a warning.
8. Working with the authorities
If we become aware of information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence involving a threat to the life or safety of a person, we promptly inform the competent law enforcement or judicial authorities.
We act on removal orders from competent authorities. Orders concerning terrorist content under Regulation (EU) 2021/784 should be sent to legal@cupidera.com, which accepts communications in Estonian and English. That address is also our point of contact for authorities generally; members should use safety@cupidera.com.
9. Staying safe
Moderation reduces risk; it does not remove it. Never send money to another member. Do not share financial details, identity documents or your home address. Meet for the first time in a public place and tell someone where you are going. If something feels wrong, block the member and report them.
