This policy explains what cookies Cupidera uses, what they do, and how you control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies — local storage, session storage — work the same way, and this policy covers them too.
2. Your choice comes first
Estonia has no separate cookie statute; the rule comes directly from Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) together with the GDPR. It means we may only store or read anything on your device that is not strictly necessary if you have consented first.
So, in practice:
- Nothing optional is set before you choose. The banner appears on your first visit and nothing but the strictly necessary cookies runs until you decide.
- “Reject all” is exactly as easy as “Accept all” — one click, same place, same weight.
- Nothing is pre-ticked. Scrolling, swiping or continuing to browse is not consent.
- You choose per category, not all-or-nothing.
- You are never blocked from the site for refusing. There is no cookie wall.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page — as easily as you gave it.
We keep a record of the choice you made, which the law requires us to be able to demonstrate.
3. The categories
3.1 Strictly necessary — always on
These make the site work and cannot be switched off. They cover signing you in and keeping your session, protecting your account and the site from abuse, load balancing, remembering your language, and remembering this cookie choice itself. They are not used to measure anything or to advertise.

One note on this, in the interests of being straight with you: the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate takes a stricter view than most EU regulators and treats authentication cookies as needing consent. We follow the mainstream European position, which is that a session authentication cookie for a service you have explicitly asked to log into is strictly necessary. A persistent “remember me” cookie is a different thing — it is only set if you tick that box, which is your choice.
3.2 Functional — off unless you allow it
Remembers preferences that are convenient but not essential: your search filters between visits, layout choices, and similar. Refusing these does not break anything; you will just have to set things again.
3.3 Analytics — off unless you allow it
Helps us understand which pages get used and where people run into trouble, so we can improve. Analytics is not strictly necessary — that is settled at EU level, and it applies even to first-party analytics — so it never runs without your consent.
3.4 Marketing — off unless you allow it
Used to measure advertising and show more relevant offers. Never used to reveal who you are to advertisers.
At the time of writing, Cupidera sets no analytics or marketing cookies at all. The categories exist so that your choice is recorded and honoured if that changes. If we ever add one, it will only run for people who allowed that category.
4. Third parties
Some parts of the site load resources from other providers — fonts and script libraries. Those providers can see your IP address as part of serving the file. We are reducing these dependencies. No third-party advertising or tracking network is embedded in Cupidera.
5. Controlling cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in.
